Wasn't Thanksgiving great this year? It sure was for our family. We gave lots of thanks for Merle's new job. By the way, he had to be at the store at 2 am on Black Friday, and he worked until 6 pm that evening. I can't even count how many hours that was!!
You will be so glad to know that we are almost done with the remodel, and I can't wait for yall to see it. It's going to be the nicest room in the house--do you see the irony in that? It doesn't seem right that the nicest room be the bathroom! I was so surprised that dad and my bro Matt came over today to help finish up. Dad painted the second coat and bro did all of the caulking and taped everything off so that I could do the trim. I honestly had never painted until today, and it is my new favorite hobby! I carried my big ole' gallon of paint into the kitchen and painted the windowsills. I promise they needed it; I wasn't really just looking for something else to make look new! I think mom and I found all the decorative stuff we need to complete the look, so the finishing touches should be done by tomorrow. Let me know when you're coming over to check it out!!
Well, I need to go start another load of laundry, so I'll catch you cats later!!

The Big Announcement!

Okay, so you know I'm not preggo. And I guess the three people that read my blog already know that our family has received it's biggest blessing ever--Merle got the job that we have been praying for for 11 years. I can't belive that for the first time ever Merle is going to actually work in the same town we live in!!! All glory to God for this!

And, I need to let you know that the remodel is still NOT done. We are close, but not there yet. We still have one more coat of paint and we need to seal the grout in the shower and on the floor. I found a gorgeous mirror for 79.99 at TJ Maxx. Don't you love that store?!!! And the mirror is huge. I will have fun shopping for some prints for the wall, maybe even a piece of metal work would be pretty.

I have a funny Cocolicious Chanel story. So we spent $300 yesterday cleaning the carpet from where she's ruined it by peeing on it. I kept her out all day yesterday and all last night. I let her in this morning (because you know it was freezing in the garage!) and she hadn't been in the house 15 minutes and peed on the carpet. What do you do??? I really want to get rid of her but Merle says it will break the kids hearts. I think they could care less. Carter likes to DDT her (for those of you wrestling fans you'll see the humor in this!) and Collin likes to put the beat on her when the mood strikes him.

I saw my buddy Alison today. She and her hubby came to Dazzle Daze. How fun!! And Becke kept the kids today for me--thanks girl!!! I'll bring you payment on Sunday--is cash acceptable?!!! And Atrain--where are you??? Are you out there?!!! If I know you, you are in the process of redecorating something or moving pictures around...maybe even cooking some kind of delicious meal. Save me some!

Getting closer...

I have to give a great big thanks to my girlfriend Becke for coming to the casa today and whipping me and the house into shape. The thick layer of fine white sheetrock dust is finally gone! Now maybe the kids and dog will stop sneezing! Hee-hee!
Seriously Beck, thanks for the much needed help. Even Merlot was impressed!
I have an announcement to make on Wednesday. I know you can't wait to hear some exciting news. And, no, it's not that I'll be setting the dog free!

what were we thinking?

There are two things I wish I would have been warned NOT to do. The first was to get a dog. What was I thinking? I swear, one day I'm going to slip her collar off and set her free in the neighborhood. The second thing someone should have told me not to do was REMODEL a bathroom. What I was optimistically hoping was a seven-day affair will easily be a two week job. Oh well, once it's over the party's at my house!

thanks to my girl, a-train!

I got to give the first shout out to my buddy a-train. She knows that for the most part I still live in the 80's. That's okay, unless you don't know how to program or your cell phone or start a blog! Maybe some of my stories will be as funny as good ole' a-train's. Thanks for the help sista!
